![]() ![]() It is loud, with great projection and clarity. It does not sound like a Martin or a Taylor, but has its own voice. Yairi mimicked and added to the Martin D41/D35 Abalone trim and 3 piece back with the DY-90, but it does not mimic the sound. Yairi always used select woods aged 20 years or more, and adding another 32 years on top of that has brought out a richness and power of tone that really stands out in any company. ![]() It has a layered rosewood body made using Yairi's famed methods and a solid spruce top, all from Yairi's famous wood inventory. The DY-90 was produced as the model 5070 from around 1970, renamed the DY-90 in 1975, and was made until around 1992. Yairi's guitars are well known for their wonderful quality, going back 80 years. This is one of the finest models hand made by the famed K. ![]()
